    This little explored route to Machu Picchu is new trekking alternative. The landscape and natural beauty with its exotic flora and fauna accompany us during the entire adventure.

    Itinerary

    1st day:
    We leave Cusco at 5am and passing  through the towns of Izcuchaca and Limatambo before arriving at Mollepata (approx. 9am). After breakfast, we meet our mule drivers and begin the trek. Around noon we'll lunch in Silcacancha field. Afterward, it's a three hour walk to our first campsite at SORAYPAMPA.
    2nd day:
    After a good breakfast (7am) we prepare ourselves to undertake the long and most difficult day of the trip. We cross the Salkantay pampa along the left side of the snow-capped peak - Umantay -before arriving at Salkantay pass (4,650mt/14,760ft) approx. 12pm. At this site we'll observe the snow peaks, glaciers and waterfalls of the Salkantay range. After  2-hour lunch in Huayrac, we trek our second campsite at Challway .
    3rd day:
    This day will be unforgettable because of great variety of flora and fauna we'll see. Starting from Challway we'll pass through the village of Arranniyoc before descending towards the cloud forest. We'll follow the course of the Santa Teresa River, observing varieties of orchids and waterfalls of great magnitude. We'll arrive to our campsite in Santa Teresa, we'll  enjoy the thermal hot springs in Cocalmayo  before the dinner.
    4th day:
    The starts at 8:00 am. We'll take local transportation from  Santa Teresa  to hydroelectric  plant  (approx. 1 hour). From here, we'll walk three hours to Aguas Calientes . After the check-in to our hotel, we'll have free time, before dinner.
    5th day:
    Today is dedicated to visiting the magnificent site of Machu Picchu. In the afternoon (approx. 15:00), we'll return to Cusco.
