In this hike you walk through the beautiful landscape of the Lares valley, with its magnificent mountains, lakes and lamas. You'll meet and interact with the local people and stay in their small villages

Itinerary

1st day:
Travel by bus (1½ hours) to the start of the hike near an old hacienda in Huarán (2,830mt-9,280ft). You'll walk along the Urubamba River in the Sacred Valley, about 5-hours of slow climbing. After having lunch, arrive at the pampa of Cancha-Cancha (3,800mt-12,465ft) and camp.
2nd day:
After breakfast, start climbing (about 3½ hours) to the first pass - Pachacutec (4,420mt-14,500ft). There are fantastic views of the glaciers Pachacutec, Pitusiray and Lake Pachacutec. It's a 1½ hour downhill walk before lunch near Lake Chihuapampa. Then. two more hours to reach campsite in Kishuarani (3,700mt-12,135ft), passing Canchispaqcha waterfalls along the way.
3rd day:
From Kishuarani, start climbing (about 3 hours), first passing Lake Queñacocha, then on to the second pass - Kkochuyckaza (4,240mt-13,900ft). From here, there are fabulous views of snow-covered mountains and the Huillke lakes. Before lunch, it's an hour's walk near the Huillke lakes (3,960mt-12,990ft) and then another hour down to the campsite in Concani (3,800mt-12,465ft).
4th day:
An easy walk, all downhill (about 2½ hours) to the hot springs near Lares. Continue on another hour to the village of Lares. Take the bus back to Calca and then Cuzco (about 5 hours).
