    Resume

DESCRIPTION This remote and rarely visited region offers the trekker an insight into traditional Andean life; a timeless world where farmers plant their crops on the lands their ancestors tended and watch over herds of llama and alpaca beneath the sacred snow-covered peaks they worshipped as gods. The trail is one of the Inca trails from the time of the Inca Empire. Today, the trail is still in use by farmers, who are Inca descendents. The trail connects the communities of Cuncani, Quisuarani and Lares with life in the Sacred Valley. On the third day, we'll take the afternoon train to Machupicchu Pueblo, having a full day to explore the Machupicchu Sanctuary the next day. Runtime: 4 days / 3nigths Difficulty Level: Moderate (6 hours walking a day) Trek Type: SIC Standard & Private Departures: Every day Season: April to December Language: Spanish, English (according to client´s wishes)

    ITINERARY:

    Day 1 Cusco - Quishuarani - Cuncani

We'll make an early morning departure from Cusco to the trailhead by private transport. Once in Quisuarani, we'll start our hike toward our first mountain pass, where we can enjoy a spectacular view of the Andes adorned with glaciers and lakes.

    Day 2: Cuncani - Cuyoc

After breakfast, we'll start our hike and reach our second mountain pass, crossing several lakes along the way. At the pass, we'll have our lunch and break. Coming down from the pass, we can appreciate the view of the Sacred Valley of the Incas and the flat area surrounding Maras. We'll set up camp at Cuyoc beside a wild forest of Queuña tree. (7 km / 4.35 mi / 7 hours)

Day 3: Cuyoc - Pumahuanca - Urubamba - Ollantaytambo (Train Station to Machupicchu)

We'll walk down along the Pumahuanca Valley, crossing the community of Pacchaspata and the ruins found there. At the end of our trek, we'll see the community farm of Ahuamarca, which is well-developed. Here, we will be picked up by our transport, and drive to Ollantaytambo. From here, we'll take the afternoon train to Aguas Calientes, where we'll spend the night at a hostel. (6 km / 3.73 mi/ 5 hours)
