Resume

Manu is one of the most important tropical parks in the world and was declared a World Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 1977. It is home to a variety of different ecological zones that descend from 4,000mt-13,120ft to 300mt-984ft. The park is the largest tropical jungle reserve in South America and one of the largest in the world. It harbors unique wildlife and has the richest diversity of bird life in the world - over a thousand species have been recorded here. No other park on earth can compare to Manu in terms of animal life. There are 13 species of monkeys and one of the world's rarest mammals: the giant river otter. We’ll see macaws, deer, black and white caimans, capybaras (world's largest rodent), tapirs, butterflies, ocelots, parrots and, with luck, the elusive jaguar.
