    Itinerary

    ITINERARY

The experience begins with departure from the hotel to the starting point of the walk at Huayracpunku ( this word means Gate of the Wind in Quechua); we continue along a little valley where time stands still, along a signed path. At the beginning of the road, and just in front of us, we see the pyramidal terraces of Machuchoquequirao whose kilns date back to colonial times and remind us of what this pretty valley has lived through.

Continuing along the same path we enter into a fantastic and well-preserved area of Andean flora and fauna which is very typical of this zone, with species that are endemic to the South of the country; we also notice trees which are native to Cusco, smell the aroma of medicinal plants used in the past whose characteristics are still transmitted by the people of the area. We then reach the Inca Temple of Inkilltambo which shows us the agrarian mindset and skills of the ancient Cusco dwellers.

In the middle of the Enchanted Valley, we take a well-deserved rest which will fill our spirits with joy for being alive and able to share the wonders of this place. We will be offered refreshments prepared by the women " hampimakis" of the Yucanypata community, located inside the Sacsayhuaman Park. Afterwards we enter the Inca pathway called "Qapaqñan" which led the Incas to the antisuyo, the jungle. Here we will see marvelous waterfalls and rock formations from which the Incas extracted large stones to be used for the construction of their palaces. A little later we visit the enigmatic temple of Amaru Marca Wasi and Kusilluchayoc before we return to the point where we began; here, if we still wish to continue understanding the logic of the ancient Inca dweller, we begin our descent to the historic center of Cusco.
