This exclusive route through the Sacred Valley of the Incas is short but very impressive. Visit Pisac, the salt works of Maras, and Moray.
Itinerary
PisaqLocated 32km-20m from Cusco, this picturesque pueblo has a blend of Spanish Colonial and traditional Andean architectural styles. Its Sunday handicrafts market is arguably the best in the region. Pisaq is also host to a very unique Sunday mass. It's conducted in Quechua, native language of the Incas, and attended by the mayors of all the local villages. The sight of these majestic men, attired in their best hand-woven finery and brandishing the carved walking sticks that denote their political station, is not to be missed. Perched on the towering ridge above the town is the site of old Pisaq - an incredible complex of Inca stonework with its commanding view of the river valley below.
Maras
Maras is located off the main Cusco-Sacred Valley road just outside of Urubamba. This charming colonial village is renown for its stone portals inscribed with the family coat-of arms, dating by centuries.
